Maintaining your performance fabrics

Our Performance Fabrics are tightly woven to keep their good looks for several years to come and also help with their stain resistance by allowing spills to bead up instead of soak into the fabric. You can clean the majority of these small spills can easily be cleaned by gently blotting the area of the spill to soak any excess liquid up, and then spray a soap and water mixture followed by gentle scrub from a washcloth.

For more prominent stains, its best to use this method:

Before spot cleaning, blot liquids on the surface with a clean, soft towel and brush off any loose debris.
Prepare a cleaning solution of 1 cup of lukewarm water and ¼ tsp mild enzyme detergent (such as Tide or Dawn).
Apply the solution using a misting spray bottle.
Work the solution into the affected area by lightly rubbing the area with a sponge or soft bristle brush. Avoid scrubbing, and do not use a stiff bristle brush or anything that will scour the fabric. Work from the outside of the stain inward. Rinse your sponge or brush frequently.
Allow the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric for a few minutes.
Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and dirt. Blot the excess moisture with a clean, soft towel or sponge.

Calico always recommends regular vacuuming to prevent dust and dirt from wearing your fabric quicker, as well as having your furniture cleaned by a professional annually.
