swags
Swags or cascades add graceful curves and soft texture to more formal window styles. These can be perfect for framing a lovely view or interesting focal point in your room.
Calico offers these options:
- Asymmetrical
- Classic
- Monaco Pole
- Pleated Bustle
Asymetrical
- The number of swags depends upon window size.
- A pair of asymmetrical swags is often used to accentuate a fireplace or other focus point.
- Asymmetrical Swags are board mounted.
- Add at least 4″ to face width and 2″ to returns of any under-treatment, e.g. sheers, for proper clearance.
- Silk fabrics should always be interlined.
- Cascades or swags lined in a print or contrasting darker fabric should always be interlined to prevent show-through of the lining.
Classic
- The number of swags depends upon window size.
- Classic swags are board mounted.
- With added pelmets, swags and cascades are an excellent choice for bay windows.
Monaco Pole
- Monaco Pole Swags are best bias cut. Striped and plaid fabrics will have diagonal lines; cascade and drapery side panels run up the roll.
- A pair of Monaco swags is often used to accentuate a fireplace or other focal point.
- Treatment does not return to the wall; there will be slight gap between drapery and wall allowing light to enter the room from the sides.
- Add at least 4″ to face width and 2″ to returns of any under-treatment, e.g. sheers, for proper clearance.
- Silk fabrics should always be interlined. Additional under-treatment recommended for sun protection with silk fabrics.
- Maximum bracket to bracket size is 60″ for this treatment.
- Mount high enough so molding and glass are not visible.
Pleated Bustle
- Pleated Bustle swags may be used over any pleated or flat panel drapery mounted on rings; pinch pleated draperies are included in price shown.
- Stationary treatment mounted on rings.
- Silk fabrics should always be interlined.
- Sheer fabrics are not recommended.
- If bustle swag is bias cut, stripes will be at an angle.
- Mount high enough so molding and glass are not visible behind tabs.
